Do you really need a booster dose of Covid-19?

Everyone who has ever been vaccinated wants to know the answer to this question - is the booster dose of Covid 19 really important?

Simply put, there is no definite answer.

Before answering this question, keep in mind that new information about Kovid is still coming out every day.

It is known that weeks or months after the second dose, the amount of antibodies (proteins that fight the virus) in the body begins to decrease. And now the matter has become more complicated because of the highly contagious delta or omicron variant. But antibodies are not the only immune system in our body. In addition, there are T cells, B cells that combine to protect the body. At the moment, scientists do not know how many antibodies, T-cells or B-cells are needed to gain the strength needed for resistance. And just because the amount of antibodies decreases after the second dose does not mean that our body no longer has the ability to fight off these germs. Scientists are talking about taking booster doses to increase their ability to fight against corona.

However, in the case of those who have low immunity or suffer from some other complex disease, the disease may take a definite shape, because even after receiving two doses of vaccine, they may not get as much protection as the rest. So it is safer to take it with a third or booster dose without taking unnecessary risks.

Interestingly, it is said that since different vaccines stimulate our immune system in different ways, it may be possible to achieve a more comprehensive defense if given as a different type of vaccine booster than the first two doses. It is still being researched.

However, from the research that has been done, it can be said that giving the third dose is the right thing to do.
